SECOND FLIGHT ~ Not Your Mother’s Mac & Cheese
2009 Revana Vineyard Pinot Noir
Due to the transition of soil types from Volcanic to Sedimentary in the Revana Vineyard, the fruit tends to produce unique flavor profiles that stray slightly from what we have come to expect from the Dundee Hills. Pleasant earthiness is highlighted by aromas gushing with red fruit and cocoa nibs, culminating with a caress of sweet red plums. On the entrance, the Pinot Noir is delicate, and teases with red berry bramble, then explodes mid-palate with juicy intense fruit and nutrient-rich soil, creating a vast expansiveness. The transition to the finish is more refined and stays with you, leaving beautiful faint memories of red currants and terroir. The 2009 Revana Vineyard Pinot Noir was aged for nine months in16% new French oak and is a blend of 113, 114, 115, 667, 777, Pommard and Wadenswil clones. 1930 cases produced.

Staying true to the characteristics of the Shea Vineyard, the 2008 has an intense purple hue, inky and sexy in the glass. Bushels of black cherries and blueberries coalesce with dreams of Christmas spice intensely caressing the nose. An eruption of big bold blue fruit, dusty road and minerality teases, expanding on the mid-palate, bursting with weight, fine tannins and a finish that never ceases.
