Maysara Winery

FIRST FLIGHT ~ Carrot Soup with Miso and Grilled Bread

2011 Pinot Gris
Beautiful acid.  Great aromatics of green apple, tropical fruits (passion fruit).  Pear and green apple on the taste.  Like a spring-summer fruit punch.  The wine maker said the great acidity would make a good match for gamey food.

SECOND FLIGHT ~ Baked Brie on Puff Pastry with Sautéed White Mushrooms

2009 Three Degrees Pinot Noir

Three Degrees is a burgundy garnet color.  The 2009 Pinot Noir has some notes of Grandmother’s cherry pie, crushed violets, and raspberry characters that intoxicate the glass of wine.  On the palate, nice black pepper jumps out with a touch of cranberry and pomegranate that finishes the palate.  91 points Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate

Three Degrees is a deep cherry color, with a core of dark cherries, blackberries, raspberries, red liquorices and with a touch of nutmeg in the aromatics. In the beginning of the mouth there is a touch of white pepper and lush summer cherries that finishes off the palate.   91 points Wine & Spirits

2008 Jamsheed Pinot Noir
The 2008 Jamsheed Pinot Noir has intense flavors of pomegranate, plums, and ripened dark cherries.  As the wine progresses to the back of the palate, soft hints of tobacco and dark fruits blend to produce a burst of zest.  Balanced acidity and tannins help the flavors come in layers, lasting with a sense of delicacy.
90 points Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate

THIRD FLIGHT ~ Sliders (Pork Shoulder Braised in Red Wine) with Homemade Cole Slaw

2008 Estate Cuvée Pinot Noir

The 2008 Estate Cuvee showcases elegant hues of fierce ruby red color. Vibrant aromas of ripened fruits such as black cherries and pomegranates are blended to create the classical style of Pinot Noir that Oregon exemplifies. Hints of spice linger mid-palate and finish with cracked black pepper. With the balanced tannins and good acidity, the Estate Cuvee provides ample structure for the palate.
The 2009 Estate Cuvée received 94 points from Wine Spectator and 91 points from Wine Advocate!

2008 Asha Pinot Noir
Deep crimson color with bold and complex layers on the nose and palate.  Sun ripened berries, cacao and brown sugar are wrapped up with dark angelic spices.  Open and decant to savor the beauty of Asha now or cellar for years to come.
93 points Wine Advocate
