Chateau de Montfaucon

FIRST FLIGHT  ~  Root Vegetable Soup

2010 Château de Montfaucon Viognier
The nose is very expressive with hints of peach, mango, quince, honeydew melon, grapefruit, and
bananas. The palate is fresh, fat, & dense and carries the fruit forward. Early picking of the grapes yields a brisk amount of acidity and the finish ends with a surprisingly long and mineral component. This wine is best served between 450—550 F to optimize the aromas. It is ideal as an aperitif or to accompany grilled fish, shellfish, and exotic salads. Best consumed in the first couple of years after harvest. Santé!

2010 Montfaucon Les Gardettes Rosé
The deep pink color draws one in to the explosive nose of peaches and violets. In the mouth, the fruit
component is soft and round and the balanced acidity means the wine pairs wonderfully with many
foods—especially when eating cuisine from the barbeque. This is an attractive, easy‐to‐drink wine
which can be utilized as an aperitif as well as an accompaniment to Mediterranean style cuisine.
Although Rosé is usually meant to be enjoyed young, this wine has a proven track record of maintaining
its freshness for several years. Do not be afraid to enjoy yourself while consuming a glass of Rosé!

SECOND FLIGHT  ~  Duck Rillettes with Arugula

2008 Château de Montfaucon Côtes du Rhône
The light purple color yields to an explosive nose of red fruits including cranberries & cherries. Next up
are notes of blueberries & blackberries followed by chocolate and black pepper. The mouth is rich
without being heavy; full, round, & elegant. The red fruits dominate the mid‐palate and the chocolate
notes keep returning on the finish. This is a very versatile wine that pairs well with poultry and meat
dishes as well as pasta and firm cheeses. Meant to be enjoyed young, you will be surprised & rewarded
by letting this wine age gracefully in your cellar—it begins to develop a subtle Burgundy‐like character.

2006  Château de Montfaucon Côtes du Rhône Baron Louis
The nose exhibits hints of lavender and perfume along with dark fruits, cranberry, and raspberry notes.
In the mouth, the wine is very elegant and smooth, with round, soft tannins. This is the perfect dinner
wine. It is a wonderful accompaniment to meat dishes including lamb, beef, wild game, & duck. It is
also agreeable with meats in savory sauces. The Baron Louis can be consumed upon release or aged
for up to 10 years for maximum enjoyment. Finesse, elegance, & balance flourish in this unique cuvée.

THIRD FLIGHT  ~  Pate Maison

2007 Vin de Monsieur le Baron de Montfaucon (a special “über” Cuvée from Rudi)
The 2007 Vin de Monsieur le Baron de Montfaucon, unique in its style, is all finesse, fruit, flowers, &
perfume in the nose. On the palate, the wine is extremely elegant with dark fruit flavors and a long,
lingering finish. It is a unique, timeless wine for wine lovers, connoisseurs, & collectors. Please decant.
