September 20th Seminar

"Wines of Greece"

Wine has been an important part of Greek culture for over 4000 years as the numerous archeological discoveries throughout Greece have revealed.  The ancient Greeks knew well the nutritional value of wine as it became an inseparable part of their daily regimen.   What makes Greek wine so unique are the more than 300 indigenous grape varieties grown there, some of which have been cultivated since ancient times.  This extensive variety of grapes together with the moderate Greek climate, plentiful sunshine, low average rainfall and soils of moderate fertility combine to provide an excellent environment for the production of high quality wines.

In recent years, the Greek wine industry has undergone enormous improvement with serious investments in modern wine-making technology.  To that end, Women Tasting Wine will feature “Wines of Greece” Monday, September 20 from 4:00-6:00 at Jackalope Grill.  The wines will be presented by Amos Embury of Domaine Selections, and will be accompanied by Chef Tim's complementary food pairings.

We will meet on Monday, September 20, from 4:00-6:00, at Jackalope Grill.  The cost is $45.   Your payment is your reservation.

To facilitate making your reservation for the September 20 WTW Seminar, we will be accepting credit cards as well as cash or checks (made out to “Women Tasting Wine.”)  You can drop off your check at Bend Wine Cellar Thursday or Saturday from 2:00-5:00. (Stop by Saturday and enjoy a complimentary wine tasting.)  You can also call Diane (541-388-7564) with your credit card information. We need to have our final numbers in on the Wednesday before the event for the purpose of ordering the food, so payment needs to be received by Wednesday, September 15.  If you have any food allergies, please mention them when registering.

Remember, reservations are on a first come, first served basis and your payment is your reservation.  Since we have to have our “head count” in by Wednesday morning, there will be no refunds for cancellations after 9:00 AM Wednesday, September 15, or for no-shows on the day of the seminar.
