March 20 Seminar
"Wines of Tuscany"
- Jackalope Grill
- 4:00-6:00 (Arrive 15 min. early.)
On Monday, March 20, Women Tasting Wine will feature Wines from Tuscany, presented by Christie Brassard of Young's Market Company. Tuscany is the most enduringly famous of all Italian wine regions, thanks to the romantic glamour of its endless rolling hills, cypress-lined country roads and hilltop villages. But even without all of this, evaluated on the merits of its wines alone, Tuscany stands tall, its reputation founded on such iconic wines as Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, and Vino Nobile di Montrpulciano.
Situated in central Italy, Tuscany's neighbors are Liguria and Emilia-Romagna to the north, Umbria and Marche to the east and Lazio to the south. Its western boundary is formed by the Tyrrhenian Sea. As is the case with almost all of Italy's 20 regions, Tuscany has a long wine history; it can be traced back as far as the fifth century BC.
Join us as we taste some of these Tuscan wines accompanied by Chef Tim's complementary creations.
We will meet on Monday, March 20, from 4:00-6:00 at Jackalope Grill. The cost is $45.
To facilitate making your reservation for the March 20 WTW Seminar, we will be accepting credit cards as well as cash or checks (made out to “Women Tasting Wine"). You can drop off your check at Bend Wine Cellar Thursday or Saturday from 2:00-5:00. (Stop by Saturday and enjoy a complimentary wine tasting.) You can also call Diane (541-420-1213) with your credit card information. As the menu is a fixed one and not a la carte, please let us know at the time of registration if you have any food allergies. We need to have our final numbers in on the Tuesday before the event for the purpose of ordering the food so payment needs to be received by Sunday, March 12. Please note the cut-off date!
Remember, reservations are on a first come, first served basis and your payment is your reservation. Since we have to have our “head count” in by Tuesday morning, there will be no refunds for cancellations after 9:00 AM Wednesday, March 15, or for no-shows on the day of the seminar.
We hope to see you in March and at future monthly Women Tasting Wine Seminars!
