On June 11 Women Tasting Wine will feature wines from the award-winning Bergström Winery, presented by Raul Salinas. Bergström Winery believes that winemaking begins and ends in the vineyard. The winegrowing process must be a natural one, respecting progress of the growing season, harvesting the fruit by hand only when it has reached physiological maturity and allowing a fermentation to take place that is driven by the vineyard's indigenous yeast strains. We believe that Oregon Pinot Noir must have purity of fruit that can only be achieved through non-industrial, artisan winemaking

Winemaker Josh Bergstrom’s Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays and Rieslings are excellent examples of old world philosophy blended with new world techniques and attention to detail. With careful hands, Josh tempers technology with a strong respect for a balanced ecosystem and sustainable agriculture. Terroir is not just a buzz-word. It exists if you let it shine through. That is why not all of the Bergström wines taste, smell or age the same way. Each vinous expression of a vineyard’s site is guided by the winemaker’s hand into a “once in a lifetime” snapshot of a year and a terroir that cannot be duplicated or standardized. At Bergström Winery, Josh believes that each vineyard’s wine and vintage should be unique.

We are eagerly looking forward to tasting some of these quality wines, complemented by Chef Tim’s culinary magic. 

We will meet on Monday, June 11, from 4:00-6:00 at Jackalope Grill.  The cost is $45.

To facilitate making your reservation for the June 11 WTW Seminar, we will be accepting credit cards as well as cash or checks (made out to “Women Tasting Wine.”)  You can drop off your check at Bend Wine Cellar Thursday or Saturday from 2:00-5:00.  (Stop by Saturday and enjoy a complimentary wine tasting.)  You can also call Diane (388-7564) with your credit card information. Please let us know at the time of registration if you have any food allergies.  We need to have our final numbers in on the Wednesday before the event for the purpose of ordering the food, so payment needs to be received by Wednesday, June 6.

Remember, reservations are on a first come, first served basis and your payment is your reservation.  Since we have to have our “head count” in by Wednesday morning, there will be no refunds for cancellations after 9:00 AM Wednesday, June 6, or for no-shows on the day of the seminar.
