April 21st Seminar
"Elk Cove Vineyards"
- Jackalope Grill
- 4:00-6:00 (Arrive 15 min. early.)
On Monday, April 21st, Women Tasting Wine will feature wines from Elk Cove Vineyards, presented by Shirley Brooks, VP of Sales and Marketing. Elk Cove Vineyards is one of Oregon's oldest and most respected wine producers. Founded in 1974 by Pat and Joe Campbell, their focus has always been to produce handcrafted, estate-grown wines that can rival the best in the world. Estate vineyards now cover over 250 acres on five separate sites in the Northern Willamette Valley. Steep south-facing slopes of Willakenzie, Laurelwood and now Jory soil types provide excellent drainage, which are the perfect environment to grow world-class wine grapes. Winemaker Adam Godlee Campbell joined forces with his parents in 1995 and now directs the production of outstanding Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Pinot Blanc, as well as the highly sought after “Ultima” dessert wine.
The name "Elk Cove" was derived from the Roosevelt Elk, which roamed nearby, and migrated into the valley each spring.
Forbes.com said “Elk Cove is one of the best known and most respected Oregon pinot producers thanks to their classically crafted wines….”
Join us in tasting some of these fine wines, paired with complementary small plates creatively prepared by Chef Tim Garling.
We will meet on Monday, April 21st, from 4:00-6:00 at Jackalope Grill, 750 Lava Road. The cost is $45.
To facilitate making your reservation for the April 21 WTW Seminar, we will be accepting credit cards as well as cash or checks (made out to “Women Tasting Wine.”) You can drop off your check at Bend Wine Cellar Thursday or Saturday from 2:00-5:00. (Stop by Saturday and enjoy a complimentary wine tasting.) You can also call Diane (388-7564) with your credit card information. As the menu is a fixed one and not a la carte, please let us know at the time of registration if you have any food allergies. We need to have our final numbers in on the Wednesday before the event for the purpose of ordering the food, so payment needs to be received by Wednesday, April 16.
Remember, reservations are on a first come, first served basis and your payment is your reservation. Since we have to have our “head count” in by Wednesday morning, there will be no refunds for cancellations after 9:00 AM Wednesday, April 16, or for no-shows on the day of the seminar.
We hope to see you in April and at future monthly Women Tasting Wine Seminars!
